Winoa is a French company specializing in the production and sale of steel abrasives for the treatment and transformation of metal surfaces. With over 60 years of global expertise, Winoa aims to modernize the process of conducting technical audits on its customers’ equipment worldwide.
Objectives
- Allowing technicians to complete audit reports directly via the Microsoft HoloLens headset with:
- Text input through a virtual keyboard or voice recognition (Speech-to-Text)
- Photo capture directly from the headset or via an iPhone
- Automatic calculations based on the entered measurements
- Providing automatic export of reports in Excel format, based on a pre-defined Winoa template (pre-filled with values, comments, and photos)
- Optimizing user experience in the field
- Enabling easy demonstration of the application by guiding navigation via an iPhone
- Making technical audit information accessible and visual for the client, directly at the equipment site
Our solution
A tailored HoloLens application with a custom iOS companion app.
The solution developed by Synergiz is based on a custom business application combined with the use of the Microsoft HoloLens headset, allowing Winoa technicians to:
- Move and operate completely autonomously, without the need for a tablet or laptop
- Add comments by voice using built-in Speech-to-Text functionality
- Capture and edit photos directly through the headset in real-world context, with the ability to add 3D annotations without interrupting the inspection
- Automate calculations based on data entered in the field
- Automatically generate reports compliant with Winoa’s Excel template
The iOS companion app enables technicians to:
- Capture, edit, and send photos to the main application
- Facilitate app demonstrations by controlling navigation between pages
